Seminars for the Under and Unemployed
What You Don’t Know About Under and Unemployment
A Seminar Designed to Help those Under and Unemployed – mentally, emotionally, spiritually and practically.
by Pamela Christian
Under and unemployment bring with it a lot more difficulties than simply the loss of a paycheck.
I know. My husband and I were both unemployed in the early 1990’s for what turned out to be four consecutive years. We lost our home to foreclosure and nearly lost our marriage and family. Having suffered all that we did has given me a heart to help others. So, when the stock market crashed in October 2008, I immediately went to work to develop a six-week course and workbook with excellent practical resources. I presented the course and workbook at my church and it was so successful that we’ve turned it into a day-long intensive available anywhere invited. We also have a DVD soon to be published. Look through this section of my web site to learn more; then let me know when I can bring my seminar offering hope for those under and unemployed to your community. You can also read my UNDER AND UNEMPLOYED BLOG.
NEWS FLASH!

What others are saying about the “What You Don’t Know…” Course:
“The practical information Pam provided in this course was as professional and complete as the program I received from Johnson & Johnson when I was downsized from that company. The value of this course was enhanced by the Christian perspective she brought as well.”
~Tim U.
“I never knew that job loss had such an underlying emotional impact on me – even from unemployment years ago. I’m grateful for Pam bringing this fact to light inasmuch as it’s made dealing with my current situation a lot easier.”
~Steve M.
“The class has helped me to stay positive and focused on what God has planned for me. I will not let these difficult times break me down. I will stay strong in my faith and in the end, I will find the most awesome job.”
~Robert C.
“I had to leave early today, but I must say the quiet in the room during this morning’s presentation told me everything I needed to know. Her talk hit like a truckload of dynamite. Personally, my stress index is at 348(!), so I could absolutely relate to everything that she was talking about, including having concerns about living in our cars. It sounds absurd that anybody who is an executive would really think this way, but it is true all the same. The fact is, most of us don’t have the cash reserves necessary to endure multiple years of transition, or multiple transitions. Thank you for hosting the meeting. It helped me understand the last two years of my own life a little bit, and it may give me some material for trying to salvage my personal life, even if my professional life can’t be salvaged. The jury is out on that one. Please let me know how I can connect with this morning’s speaker, and how I can get a copy of her slides.”
~Ken F., a Senior Executive
“What a powerful seminar that was! Pam is an outstanding presenter. She has “Facts and Information” relevant to today’s Under and Unemployed individual. Than you both [Friends Church Yorba Linda and Pamela Christian] for your hard work to make sure that the Seminar was available to us. I met some new ‘unhappy unemployed people’ who, like me, now have hope for finding tht ‘prefect job’ God has planned for us. Pam’s information is relevant for today’s job situation and it provides us with the “how” to make changes in our current daily activities to attain a good, positive, employment perspective serving our God and making a happy, healthy living for ourselves.”
~Jan S.
About the Seminar
Day-Long Intensive Seminar
Community Centers, Churches, Businesses, Service Clubs, HR Departments, any individuals or groups wanting to help those under and unemployed can host a day-long intensive seminar, because Pam is willing to provide the seminar at no charge for her presentation. Pam knows that those under and unemployed need the instruction and resources she’s developed, and they don’t have much discretionary money. Just by hosting a seminar you can help generate much goodwill in your community and truly help entire families. Anyone who’s ever suffered under and unemployment knows that it gravely impacts every family member.
The actual day opens with registration at 8:00 and concludes at 4:30 with ample breaks and an extended lunch. The model for the seminar has been proven, and with the proper effort to secure local sponsors it can be a no cost event for the host organization(s). Sponsors are typically proven, reputable businesses and individuals who offer goods and services that would benefit those under and unemployed. Additionally, by getting local restaurants to offer discounts for the attendees, local businesses will benefit from your event.

Two-hour Mini-Presentation
Preserving Your Emotional, Mental, Physical and Spiritual Health During Financial Crisis
In response to requests from organizations that provide practical job hunting services (resume writing, interview skills, etc,), Pam has extracted the invaluable emotional, mental and relational components from the day-long seminar to create a separate presentation. This focuses on the practical personal response one must garner to preserve emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health while suffering under or unemployment, bankruptcy and/or foreclosure, for the entire family. Specific job-hunting instruction is not included with this roughly two-hour presentation with a question and answer session. The mini-workbook for this is not optional and is only available to seminar attendees. Booking requirements for this seminar are different than the day-long intensive. Simply inquire to learn more.
