Most women I know, agree Fall is their favorite time of year. After a very long time of wondering about that, I have concluded it must have to do with God having established Autumn as the season when each Jewish calendar New Year would occur. Rosh Hashanah was established by God as the “head of the year” to be celebrated as a High Holy Day before God. When I consider the seasons, both Spring and Fall seem like times of refreshing and renewal. Perhaps that’s why these two seasons are when God established the Highest Holy days for His people.
Rosh Hashanah is followed by what’s known as the Ten Days of Awe or Repentance, intended for us to somberly consider our ways and repent of anything that would prevent us from God’s best blessings which are given on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. It’s a time of personal and honest introspection before God to prepare ourselves to receive His very best for all the days of the New Year. God asks us to prepare ourselves because He wants us to be in position to receive His very best. It is always God’s desire we receive everything He longs to lavish upon us. Yet so often we don’t take the time to prepare ourselves to receive from God.
The Bible has a lot to say about preparation and the importance of staying prepared. Consider the Parable of the Ten Virgins as recorded in Matthew 25:1-13. The point of the parable is that Christ’s disciples must watch correctly in order to be properly prepared and ready to accompany Jesus when He returns. Besides “watching correctly” we need to be investing correctly to receive God’s best blessings. This is revealed in the next Parable of the Talents. The central point of this story is the importance of being a faithful servant of all God has entrusted to each one of us. God wants us to prepare and position ourselves to be blessed by Him as abundantly as possible. Yet, the prospect is, we may not.
This brings me to the powerful prophecy God provided through well-respected Prophet and Pastor Kent Christmas, which he presented at the Opening the Heaven’s Conference on September 11th, which was Rosh Hashanah this year. This prophecy was overflowing with warnings and promises. Wanting His people to receive the fullness of His blessings, He gave specific warning to lukewarm Christians that the year 2027 (which corresponds with the New Hebrew Year of 5787) will have this year available to them to repent and get on board or they will find themselves shut out. I find this most frightening and therefore want to do all I can to warn the lukewarm.

You may not have known about the date of Rosh Hashanah, or about the Ten Days of Awe when we can humble ourselves and repent to be positioned to be blessed by God on the Day of Atonement, which was September 21st. However, since God is not legalistic, if you know Jesus then you know His mercies are new every morning and you can do what the Holy Spirit leads you to do at this time and still receive everything God has in mind for you in this new year.

We have two number 7s which depicts double Gods Divine Completion and we have the number 8 which means New Beginning. I want you to position yourself to be blessed, yet even more God want you to. Why not take some time over the next couple days to reflect on this time of year and all God intends for you now, in anticipation of what you will need in the coming year?
