What You Don’t Know About Under and Unemployment is the title of the day-long intensive seminar conducted by Pamela Christian. It will be presented again at Friends Church Yorba Linda on January 25, 2014.
This is the third time Friends Church Yorba Linda has offered to host the event. “Pam first presented the material as a six-week course for the members of Friends Church Yorba Linda,” offered Ken Schemmer, Director of Care Ministries. “It was so well received, in part because Pamela has personal experience with this issue, and because of the extent of help and hope she offers. We’re pleased to again host this no-cost day-long seminar, which will be open to the general public.”
Christian and her husband were unemployed for what turned out to be four years. They lost all their liquid assets and their home to foreclosure. As a result part of her ministry work now is devoted to helping others navigate through under and unemployment.
Christian explains, “Being under or unemployed brings with it a whole lot more than simply the loss of a paycheck. There’s devastating practial, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual impact as well. Under and unemployment adversely impacts the entire family which often means divorce. It’s bad enough to have lost a job, I don’t want to see people lose their families too.”
Spouses, HR personnel, counselors and others who work with those suffering under and unemployment are also encouraged to attend. More information about the seminar can be found at www.wydk.org
In addition to well researched and proven practical instruction, attendees will receive exceptional resource information for both free and discounted services specific to their needs. Those who register in advance will be given the opportunity to purchase the seventy-five page workbook for $20.00. Walks-ins are welcome as space permits with workbooks being available for $30.00 at the door. Sign in will begin at 8:00AM with the seminar starting promptly at 9:00AM. The schedule breaks for a no-host lunch with the seminar concluding at 4:00PM.
As before, the event organizers are seeking business representatives who offer goods and services for those under and unemployed to sponsor the event. For a $100.00 contribution, sponsors will be provided a display table where they can meet with the attendees to offer their goods/services. Sponsors who are confirmed by January 5th will be included in all printed promotions. To inquire about sponsorship contact Pamela Christian at 714 624-0914.
Registration is done online at the Friends Church web site Care Page. For questions call Cindy Gosting at 714 777-7384. Space is limited, make your reservations now.
